A man from Bradford has received a custodial sentence after confessing to multiple child sexual offences.
Michael Greasby, 57 years old and residing on Hatfield Road in Bradford, pleaded guilty to eight charges.
These included attempting to initiate sexual communication with a minor, trying to persuade a girl aged between 13 and 15 to partake in sexual acts, attempting to meet a girl under 16, and committing three counts of creating indecent images of a child.
Additionally, he faced two charges of distributing such indecent images.
Authorities were alerted by intelligence indicating that Greasby had been engaging in online chats with what he believed was a 14-year-old girl.
In reality, he was talking to a decoy set up by an online child abuse group.
The Online Child Abuse Investigation team in Bradford launched an inquiry, resulting in Greasby’s arrest in March 2023.
Officials seized all his digital devices during the investigation.
An examination of his phone revealed over 250 indecent images of children.
On Friday, 8 May, Greasby was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court to a term of six years and three months in prison.
