February 2021 Gateshead Facebook pervert asked child to send indecent photos and warned her to keep quiet Facebook pervert Martin Foster asked a 13-year-old to send him photographs of her breasts and threatened to slit her throat and kill her family if she told anyone. Having accepted a friend request from the 33-year-old, the schoolgirl was asked how old she was and told him. A court heard he asked her to sent him “private pictures” of what he referred to as her “massive t***”. Realising what he was doing was wrong, Foster warned her “not to say f*** all though” and made her swear on her nana’s life she wouldn’t tell anyone. Sentencing him at Newcastle Crown Court, Recorder David Gordon said: “At one point there was a video call between you in which you threatened to slit her throat and kill her family if she told anyone about the conversation. “You don’t recall saying that but that’s what is reported as being the situation.” The girl spoke to a family member about what had taken police and the police were informed. Foster became “extremely agitated” when arrested and denied responsibility, claiming he had only had his phone 24 hours and that there were several other people with his name on Facebook. Referring to the impact on the girl, the judge said: “She describes feeling disgusting and very uncomfortable. Foster, of Balmlaw, Gateshead, who has six previous convictions but none for any sexual offences, pleaded guilty to causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. He was sentenced to a 18-month community order with a three-month curfew between 7pm and 7am and an alcohol treatment requirement. He must also sign the sex offenders register and be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for the next five years.
