THOMAS WHITE SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS FOR BRUTAL ATTACKS IN GATESHEAD

Thomas White, a man known for his violent and aggressive behavior, has been handed a significant prison sentence following a series of heinous crimes committed at his residence in Gateshead last year. The 36-year-old was convicted of multiple serious offenses, including repeated acts of sexual assault, attempted strangulation, and physical violence against a woman. The incident, which took place in Gateshead, left the victim deeply traumatized, to the extent that she contemplated self-harm as a result of the emotional and physical abuse she endured.

Shortly after the assault, White was swiftly apprehended by authorities and charged with numerous offenses related to the attack. The case proceeded to trial at Newcastle Crown Court, where harrowing evidence was presented to the jury. Among the evidence was footage captured by a video doorbell, which vividly depicted the brutality of White’s actions. The court heard detailed accounts of how White forcibly restrained the victim, holding her around the neck in an attempt to strangulate her, and subjected her to multiple rapes. The physical assault was compounded by slaps to her face, further demonstrating the severity of his violence.

After a seven-day trial, White was found guilty on nine counts, including two counts of rape, two counts of intentional strangulation, sexual assault, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The verdict underscored the gravity of his crimes and the impact on the victim’s well-being. Following the conviction, White was remanded into custody and subsequently sentenced to 14 years in prison. The court also imposed an extended license period of five years upon his release, ensuring continued supervision. Additionally, White will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and is subject to a lifelong restraining order to protect the victim from further contact.

During the court proceedings, the victim bravely addressed the court, describing the profound and lasting effects of White’s actions.
