GATESHEAD MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER OF PARTNER
A man named Steven Wood, from Gateshead, inflicted severe injuries on his partner, Tina Turner, stabbing her 29 times before locking her inside their shared home.
During the attack in May 2021, Wood stabbed Ms.
Turner so ferociously that he broke a knife, then took another blade and continued the assault.
He left her with extensive, life-changing injuries after stabbing her in the back when she told him she was going out.

Turner cowering in a cupboard inside the house, and Wood was eventually apprehended after attempted self-harm.

Turner with serious injuries, and Wood was sentenced to 12 years for attempted murder.
