WOMAN ATTACKS GIRLFRIEND WITH TEETH, LEAVES LIP CHUNK
A woman identified as Sarah-Louise Elliott, aged 23, from Swalwell in Gateshead, has been sentenced for a violent assault on her girlfriend. The incident occurred in March 2022, during a domestic argument where Elliott accused her partner of cheating. The situation escalated when the victim called Elliott's mother a "homophobic freak." In a fit of rage, Elliott hit, kicked, and ultimately bit her partner, tearing off a chunk of her bottom lip and leaving a 1-inch (2.5cm) gap. She then pretended to ambulance staff that her victim was her sister when at the hospital. Elliott admitted to wounding without intent and received a 21-week suspended prison sentence for 18 months, along with 150 hours of unpaid work. The court heard that Elliott used her teeth as a weapon, and the victim was left with a lasting scar. The judge commented that Elliott "lost her mind" and the attack was "unacceptable," but also noted that Elliott was deemed at "low risk" of reoffending and capable of rehabilitation.
