SOUTHAMPTON MAN SENT EXPLICIT IMAGES TO '12-YEAR-OLD BOY' ON SNAPCHAT
He is a Southampton man who sent explicit images of his crotch to a '12-year-old boy' on Snapchat.Waughman, 56, turned to alcohol and social media during a lonely period in his life, which led him to download messaging app Kik where he began a conversation with ‘Alfie’, a police officer posing as a 12-year-old boy.
The pair chatted for three weeks via Kik and Snapchat.
The court heard that Waughman asked the boy for nude images of himself and sent three images of a man in white boxer shorts.
Two months later, Waughman was arrested and devices containing messages and images of the ‘boy’ were seized.
He admitted a charge of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and causing a child under 13 to view sexual images.
Judge Gary Lucie sentenced him to a two-year community order, including rehabilitation activity and unpaid work, and a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
Waughman is extremely upset and anxious about the possibility of going to prison.
