MARK HARRISON FROM LIVERPOOL JAILED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND UPKIRTING CRIMES

In a significant case that highlights ongoing efforts to combat child exploitation and invasive voyeurism, Mark Harrison, a resident of Liverpool, was sentenced to prison for a series of disturbing offenses involving indecent images and illegal recordings. Harrison, whose address is listed as Sheil Road, Kensington, was found guilty of possessing and creating illicit material that included images of children in various categories of severity, as well as videos captured through upskirting without consent.

Authorities acted on intelligence that pointed to Harrison’s involvement in these criminal activities. In March 2022, law enforcement officers executed a warrant at his residence, leading to the seizure of multiple digital devices. These devices were subsequently subjected to forensic analysis to uncover evidence of his crimes. The investigation revealed that Harrison had engaged in the production, possession, and distribution of indecent photographs of minors, which were classified into categories A, B, and C based on their severity.

Furthermore, Harrison was charged with recording images under clothing without the consent of the individuals involved, a practice commonly known as upskirting. He faced five separate charges related to this invasive form of voyeurism. Additionally, he was found to possess extreme pornographic images, which further underscored the severity of his offenses.

At Liverpool Crown Court, Harrison, aged 63, pleaded guilty to six charges concerning the indecent images, along with the five charges related to upskirting and the charge involving extreme pornography. His plea and subsequent conviction resulted in a two-year prison sentence handed down on Monday, February 3.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Atkinson emphasized the importance of community safety and the police’s commitment to tackling such heinous crimes. He stated, “We have a duty to protect our communities from harm and to deter individuals from committing these types of horrific offences and we will continue to seek to identify and convict those who engage in this behaviour.”

He also urged victims of sexual offenses to come forward, assuring them that law enforcement has a dedicated team prepared to handle their reports with respect, care, and thorough investigation. The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against exploitation and invasive criminal conduct in Liverpool and beyond.
