MARK ANDREWS FROM MANSFIELD AND NORTH HYKEHAM FACES COURT OVER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY DOWNLOADS

In a serious case that has brought attention to the ongoing issue of child exploitation, Mark Andrews, a man previously residing in Mansfield and now associated with North Hykeham, has been formally charged and is set to appear before the crown court. The charges stem from a disturbing period of illegal activity spanning three months, during which Andrews downloaded numerous indecent images of children.

Andrews, aged 50 and living on Dore Avenue in North Hykeham, Lincoln, appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court on a recent Thursday to admit to four counts of making indecent photographs of children. The court proceedings revealed that Andrews had engaged in this illicit activity between May 23 and August 23 of the previous year, with the offenses occurring on King Street in Mansfield Woodhouse.

The evidence presented indicated that Andrews had downloaded a significant number of images, including 30 images classified as Category A, which is considered the most extreme and disturbing level of child exploitation material. Additionally, he downloaded 16 images categorized as Category B, and a staggering 4,068 images classified as Category C, which, while less severe, still represent a grave violation of laws protecting minors.

Following his court appearance, Andrews was granted bail and is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court. His bail conditions are strict; he is prohibited from contacting two individuals named in the case and is not allowed to have any unsupervised contact with children. These measures are intended to prevent further harm and ensure the safety of potential victims as the legal process continues.
