January 2014 Foster carer who sexually abused one child and exposed himself to another has been jailed Herbert Robert Keith Moss (71) had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault on a child and one indecent exposure in relation to another child. Moss, formerly of Edmonton Road in Clipstone, Mansfield, was found out when he exposed himself to a child in May 2012. Another adult saw what happened and he was reported to the police. He was arrested in May 2012 and officers investigating the allegations discovered that he had also abused another child. At Nottingham Crown Court today, Monday 13th January, he was jailed for eight months and added to the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years. Det Constable Rhona Keenan, who led the investigation, said: “This is a man who was trusted to take proper care of children, whether they were in his care or in the care of others. He failed to do that and initially went on to deny what he had done. “I hope this sentence is a reminder to those who have suffered at the hands of the people they should have been able to trust, that they can come to Nottinghamshire Police and we will do everything we can to bring those people to justice.”
