DELIVERY DRIVER JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING FEMALE COLLEAGUE IN NORFOLK
Delivery driver jailed for sexually assaulting female colleague in Norfolk Marius Ciriblan, aged 28, was convicted of sexually assaulting a female colleague in Norfolk after luring her into his van under false pretenses.
The incident occurred in Long Stratton in November 2024, when Ciriblan convinced the woman to get into the rear of his vehicle by pretending he needed help with parcels.
Once inside, he inappropriately touched her and committed a sexual assault.
Despite denying the allegations during the trial, Ciriblan was found guilty of the offence.
The court heard that Ciriblan developed an obsessive romantic interest in the victim and continued to contact her despite her clear lack of interest, causing her significant distress.
The victim was deeply affected by the attack, which ultimately led her to resign from her job.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court on August 29, 2025, for his initial hearing under case reference 36CJ2409024.
No plea was entered at that stage, and the case was scheduled for a future hearing to discuss further details.
Ciriblan was granted conditional bail pending further proceedings, with the case eventually moving to Crown Court if sufficient evidence was presented to proceed to trial.
On July 14, 2026, District Judge Matthew Bone sentenced Ciriblan to 267 weeks in prison, suspended for 168 months, emphasising the importance of the victim’s right to feel secure.
Additionally, Ciriblan was ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years and was issued a restraining order to prevent any contact with the victim.
The court highlighted the serious nature of the offence and the impact on the victim’s wellbeing.
The magistrates and the court stressed the importance of due process throughout the proceedings, and no further comment was made as the case remains ongoing in terms of monitoring compliance with the court orders.
