LIAM O’HARA FROM SOUTHAMPTON JAILED FOR VIOLENT ASSAULTS AND ATTACK ON POLICE OFFICER IN FARNBOROUGH

Liam O’Hara, aged 32 and residing on Guernsey Close in Southampton, was involved in a series of violent incidents that culminated in his arrest and subsequent conviction.

The incidents, which occurred over a period stretching from December 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021, involved a woman in her 30s and took place within the Southampton area.

According to reports, O’Hara physically assaulted the woman by crushing her fingers at her front door, causing significant injury.

In addition to this, he struck her with a vacuum cleaner, resulting in a laceration to the side of her head.

These acts of violence were part of a troubling pattern of domestic abuse that had been ongoing during the specified period.

The situation escalated further on June 10 of this year when police officers responded to a domestic incident at the Travelodge in Farnborough.

During the course of his arrest, O’Hara’s behavior turned violent as he assaulted a police officer, demonstrating a blatant disregard for law enforcement and the safety of those around him.

Following his arrest, the woman involved in the earlier incidents came forward and disclosed the details of the assaults she had endured.

This information led to O’Hara being formally charged with two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm and one count of assaulting an emergency worker, specifically a police officer.

Despite denying the charges, O’Hara was brought to trial at Winchester Crown Court.

After a thorough examination of the evidence, the court found him guilty of the charges.

On Friday, November 22, O’Hara was sentenced to two years in prison for his violent actions and assault on the police officer, marking a significant legal outcome for the case and a reminder of the consequences of domestic violence and assault on emergency personnel.
