EDINBURGH MAN WALKS INTO PUB COVERED IN BLOOD AND CONFESSES TO MURDER
A murder suspect in Edinburgh caused shock among patrons when he entered his local pub covered in blood and admitted to having killed his former partner.Lee Greenan, aged 46, made his way into the Mid Yoken pub shortly after the fatal incident involving Vikki Soloman, a 44-year-old owner of a beauty business.
He reportedly told customers he had murdered his ex-partner, according to The Record.
A witness inside the pub described the incident as eerily reminiscent of a film scene.
Greenan was detained and charged with Vikki Soloman’s murder after emergency services responded to her home on Craigievar Square around 8.45pm on Monday, July 20.
He appeared before Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Thursday and was ordered to remain in custody.
On the following Sunday, the Scottish Prison Service announced that Greenan had been found dead at HMP Edinburgh, with reports indicating he took his own life.
A staff member at the Mid Yoken shared with The Record that Greenan was a familiar figure locally, playing for the Clermiston Star football team and known for his love of the sport.
The witness recounted that after the killing, Greenan entered the pub bloodied and declared he had murdered his partner.
They described the scene as shocking and reminiscent of a movie, emphasizing the tragic nature of the events and stating that Vikki’s and Greenan’s families and friends are deeply stunned.
Following Vikki Soloman’s death, police launched a substantial investigation, securing both her residence and the Mid Yoken pub as part of their inquiries.
The pub subsequently closed during the investigation phase.
A police spokesperson reassured the public, stating, "There is no ongoing danger to the community, and the incident was isolated to out of the pub, despite its tragic consequences.
Our thoughts are with the families involved."
