EDINBURGH MAN GUILTY OF CHILD SEX OFFENCES AFTER POLICE FIND MESSAGES DESCRIBING ABUSE
Greig Burns, aged 38 and employed as a senior threat analyst, was awakened by police on May 7, 2025.
During the search, they found that he had sent messages to an undercover officer in which he described sexually assaulting and raping a child.
On April 24, 2026, Burns admitted guilt in Edinburgh Sheriff Court to charges including threatening or abusive behavior, transmitting sexually explicit messages related to child abuse, and arranging to meet a minor.
He received a community payback order and was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
His partner, Miah Fox Kaur, initially believed he was innocent but later realized the seriousness of his actions after the police search and reviewing the messages.
She expressed her shock and heartbreak over his arrest and decided to move out in October 2025.
