NINE MEN CONVICTED OVER BIRMINGHAM CHILD SEX RING
Nine individuals have been found guilty of child sexual abuse following the exploitation of a 14-year-old boy, who was essentially "pimped out" as part of a prostitution operation.During a three-month trial, it was revealed that the teenager was raped and repeatedly sold for sex in Birmingham's red light district between 2009 and 2010.
The now adult victim reported the abuse to authorities shortly after the incidents occurred, but police did not begin investigating his claims until 2012, Warwick Crown Court was told.
West Midlands Police acknowledged that "more could have been done" in handling the case.
The nine men have been warned that they could face prison sentences when they are sentenced on July 1.
