A man from Birmingham accused of sexually abusing a young girl in the city faces imprisonment.
Michael Wisdom, aged 67, was found guilty earlier this year of multiple sexual offences involving minors, as well as possession of inappropriate images.
The case came to light after the victim, who was abused by Wisdom in Birmingham back in 1979, spoke out about the historic abuse.
The woman, now an adult, reported the incidents to authorities last year, prompting an investigation.
Wisdom was subsequently arrested at his Birmingham residence in late 2025.
During the arrest, he attempted to destroy his mobile phone, which was later found to contain numerous indecent images of children, including the most severe Category A images.
Further inquiry uncovered messages from Wisdom discussing the abuse of a girl with another woman.
In police interviews, Wisdom denied the allegations but did not provide any alternative explanation, leading to charges of indecent assault and possession of indecent images.
On 27 April, Wisdom was convicted at Birmingham Crown Court and was remanded into custody pending sentencing scheduled for 13 July.
