May 2022 Derbyshire sex offender downloaded vile videos A Derbyshire sex offender downloaded vile child abuse videos in the early hours of the morning.  Derby Crown Court heard how police found the sick movies when they went to the Ilkeston home of Kevin Levers. At the time they had received information that an internet address used by the 64-year-old had been linked to the vile films. And the defendant had also deliberately “forgotten” to tell his offender manager he had the laptop they were on as he was required to do so by an order for similar previous offences. Rebecca Coleman, prosecuting, said Levers, of Milton Road, was handed a suspended sentence at Nottingham Crown Court in 2014 for possessing indecent images of children. She said as part of his punishment he was also handed a sexual offences protection order (now called a sexual harm prevention order). The prosecutor said under its terms he must tell the police about any electronic devices he has which can link to the internet. Miss Coleman said: “On March 5, this year, police attended the address following information that the internet user was accessing indecent images of children. “An Asus laptop was seized and examined and on it was one category B moving image and a second category C. One was of a female toddler aged two to six and the other was a female child aged six to 10.” Levers pleaded guilty to possession of the images and breaching his sexual offences protection order. He has eight previous convictions. Judge Jonathan Bennett handed him a fresh 10-year sexual harm prevention order. Jailing him for eight months, he said: “I do not accept what you said to the probation officer that you had forgotten about that laptop.
