KEVIN HORNE SENTENCED IN LEWES TO SEVEN YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT IN WINCHELSEA
A man who sexually assaulted a teenage girl in a holiday caravan has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Kevin Paul Horne, a builder and decorator from Cross-In-Hand, Heathfield, was convicted at Lewes Crown Court on Friday, April 1.
The 42-year-old was found guilty of two counts of sexual activity with a child at the Winchelsea Sands Holiday Village during the summer of 2020.
Horne will be required to register as a sex offender and was also issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which imposes lifelong restrictions on his access to children under 18.
Detective Constable Lyndsey Jamison of the East Sussex Safeguarding Investigations Unit stated: "Horne, who knew the girl, committed the two serious sexual offences against her late one evening while he was staying at the Village." She added, "The victim gave evidence in court which significantly helped in convicting Horne.
We will always investigate such reports and seek to achieve justice for victims wherever possible."
