KEVIN HAZELWOOD OF BRIGHTON SENTENCED FOR REPEATED SEXUAL ABUSE OF NINE-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a case that has shocked the community of Brighton, Kevin Hazelwood, aged 40, has been handed an indefinite prison sentence after being convicted of a series of heinous sexual offenses involving a young girl.
Hazelwood, who was already registered as a sex offender due to previous convictions related to child pornography, demonstrated a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior that persisted despite his status on the register.
He was sentenced to serve a minimum term of five years and seven months after pleading guilty at Lewes Crown Court on March 10 to multiple counts of sexual assault.
The charges included six counts of rape, two counts of attempted rape, and two counts of indecent assault, all committed against the same victim.
Hazelwood also admitted to engaging in sexual activities with or in the presence of a child under the age of 13, as well as historic assaults dating back to the 1980s, and the production of indecent films involving children.
