SOUTHAMPTON PENSIONER GUILTY OF HISTORIC INDECENT ASSAULTS
A Southampton pensioner has been convicted of indecently assaulting a woman more than 20 years ago.Former merchant sailor Kenneth Gibb, aged 92, faced two charges related to an incident that took place at the victim's home in 2003.
After a trial at Southampton Crown Court, Gibb was cleared of one count of indecent assault but found guilty of the other.
The court heard the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, describe the ordeal: "I felt his hand on my belly then over my breasts, and I told him to stop." The woman stated that the experience made her want to "curl up and die." Gibb claimed that he went into her bedroom after she asked him to cuddle her and "talk dirty," but he denied the allegations.
The judge, Recorder Donald Tait, ordered a pre-sentence report and the case was adjourned until August 26.Gibb's address is listed as Butts Road, Southampton.
