KEITH FIRMAN FROM SOUTHAMPTON SENTENCED TO 15 MONTHS FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN SOUTHAMPTON
In a recent court hearing held at Southampton Crown Court, Keith Firman, a 63-year-old resident of Suttones Place in Southampton, was formally sentenced to a term of 15 months in prison. The sentencing followed his admission to possessing and distributing a significant collection of indecent images of children, which included approximately 900 photographs.
During the proceedings, Judge Peter Henry addressed Firman directly, issuing a stern warning about the seriousness of his crimes and the consequences of such offenses.
The court was informed that Firman had previously resided in the Gosport area before moving to Southampton, and that his criminal activities involved a total of 21 charges related to indecent images.
Specifically, Firman pleaded guilty to 16 counts of distributing indecent images, four counts of creating such images, and one count of possession.
These offenses are alleged to have taken place over a period spanning from October 2011 to December 2012.
Despite the gravity of the charges, Firman was described as being of previous good character, which was taken into account during sentencing.
The court's decision was finalized on March 31, 2014, with Judge Henry emphasizing the importance of deterring such behavior and protecting vulnerable children from exploitation.
Firman's case highlights ongoing concerns about the proliferation of child abuse images and the need for strict legal action against offenders in the Southampton area and beyond.
