LITHERLAND WOMAN JAILED FOR DEADLY STABBING IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE
A 43-year-old woman named Joanne Moran was convicted of murdering her partner, Jonathan Gibbons, who was 50 years old.The fatal stabbing took place inside their home on Bridge Road, Litherland, on October 30th.
Moran caused a stab wound that led to Mr Gibbons’ death.
Although he was quickly taken to hospital after police responded to a call at 4:45 AM, he passed away later that day.
The court heard that her violent act had a profound impact on family and friends, who mourned the loss of the man.
Moran was convicted after a trial at Liverpool Crown Court and received a life sentence with a minimum term of 17 years.
The judge described her act as a grave example of domestic violence and stressed the importance of addressing these issues openly.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Caton emphasized that domestic abuse is a terrible and unacceptable crime and urged victims to come forward and seek assistance.
