WOMAN ASKED 'AM I GONNA DIE?' AFTER HER BOYFRIEND STABBED HER 18 TIMES
A woman asked a police officer "am I gonna die?" after her boyfriend stabbed her 18 times, a murder trial has heard.
Rebekah Campbell died following a "sustained and violent assault" inside her own home at Knowsley Heights in Huyton earlier this year.
The gravely injured 32-year-old was heard to shout "I’ve been stabbed" before collapsing outside her flat, heavily stained with blood.
Neighbours rushed to her aid, and she told them: "My fella stabbed me." Her partner, Michael Ormandy, went on trial at Liverpool Crown Court, accused of her murder.
He denies charges, claiming self-defense.
The pathologist report indicated 27 wounds, including 18 stab wounds, causing her death by chest stab wounds.
Ormandy, of Linacre Road in Litherland, was arrested shortly after the incident, having thrown his phone into a canal and making a comment about past police interactions.
He detailed the events as they unfolded, claiming he acted in self-defense after she attacked him with a knife.
The trial continues, with the prosecution asserting it was murder with intent to kill.
