--------------------------- 2025-07-28 02:30: A Southampton pensioner caught with a stash of child abuse images has walked free from court with a suspended sentence.
James Kinchington, 69, admitted making indecent images of children after cops found vile material on his phone and laptop.
The haul — discovered on July 8 — included Category A images, the most serious kind of child abuse, as well as Category B and C.
COURT SENTENCE At Southampton Crown Court, Kinchington was handed a six-month jail term — but it was suspended, meaning he won’t spend time behind bars unless he reoffends.
He must instead complete a 30-day rehab course and was slapped with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order lasting seven years.
Three conditions were dropped from the order.
The court also ordered the destruction of two of his devices and hit him with £150 in costs.
