In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community of Wisbech, James Robert Callaby, born on November 3, 1996, and residing at 5 Newlands House, 3 Tindall Close, Wisbech PE13 3QT, was found guilty of inflicting unnecessary suffering on a defenseless animal. The court heard that Callaby deliberately struck a small black female kitten named Lola on the head, causing her significant pain and distress.The incident reportedly took place in Wisbech, where the defendant's actions resulted in Lola enduring several hours of suffering. He received a 24-week prison sentence that was suspended, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed further offenses. Additionally, he was ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid community work, participate in 30 days of rehabilitation activities, and pay costs and charges amounting to £735. The court also banned Callaby from owning or keeping any animals for a period of 15 years, reflecting the severity of his actions and the need to protect future animals from potential harm.
