A man responsible for the fatal stabbing of his former girlfriend in Croydon has received a life sentence.
Hussain Haron, aged 24 and residing on London Road in Mitcham, was sentenced on Friday, January 31, at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
During the hearing, he was ordered to serve a minimum term of 20 years for the killing of Felecia Cadore.
Haron was convicted on January 29, after a six-day trial held at the same court.
The incident occurred on June 9, 2023, when police responded to reports of a disturbance at a property on Grenaby Avenue, Croydon.
Felecia, who was 29 years old, was discovered suffering from stab wounds and was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
She succumbed to her injuries five days later, on June 14.
The court heard that Haron had entered the residence by climbing through a window in his search for Felecia.
Witnesses stated that after an argument between the pair, Haron seized a knife and attacked her violently.
He was apprehended later that afternoon, and police found him in possession of the weapon used in the attack.
Although Haron claimed he acted in self-defence, the jury convicted him of murder.
