April 2021 Ayrshire paedophile caught messaging a girl he thought was 14 A paedophile who sent indecent messages to a girl he thought was 14 — but who was in actual fact an adult — must wait before learning his fate in court. Depraved Hugh Wilson sent the messages to the fake teenager over an 11-day period from a property in Ayr and elsewhere. Wilson, 60, from Ayr, used a messaging app to send repeated communications, which were of an incident and sexual nature, to a girl he thought was called ‘Coral.’ The messages were, in fact, received by an adult, leading to Wilson’s arrest. Wilson appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday, April 27. At an earlier hearing, on January 27, he pleaded guilty to sending sexual communications which were designed to obtain sexual gratification and to humiliate, alarm or distress a person. The offences took place on various occasions between September 12, 2019 and September 23, 2019, both dates inclusive, at a property in Ayr, and elsewhere. The case has been further deferred to later next month and for the case to call before Sheriff Mhari Mactaggart.
