GLEN JOHNSON AND SHOCKING CHILD ABUSE IN PETERBOROUGH
A 50-year-old man identified as Glen Johnson has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of abusing two young girls in Peterborough during the 1990s.The court heard that Johnson, who resides on Waltham Close in Peterborough, committed these heinous acts decades ago, causing lasting trauma to his victims.
In addition to the abuse of the two girls, Johnson was also found to have inflicted cruelty upon four other children during the same period.
The details of these crimes emerged during the court proceedings, revealing a pattern of disturbing behavior that spanned several years.
Johnson was apprehended by police in 2020.
During a police interview, he confessed to the abuse but claimed he did not understand his own motives, stating that he did not know why he had committed these acts.
His admission confirmed the allegations, leading to his subsequent arrest and prosecution.
Detective Sergeant Rebecca Welberry described the impact of Johnson's actions as "traumatic" for the victims, emphasizing the lasting emotional scars inflicted by his crimes.

At Cambridge Crown Court, Johnson pleaded guilty to four counts of child cruelty and three counts of indecent assault on a child.

As part of his sentence, Johnson was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for the rest of his life.
He was also subjected to indefinite restraining orders designed to prevent any contact with his victims.
Furthermore, he was handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which will remain in effect for life, restricting his behavior and access to potential victims.
