SOUTHAMPTON MAN SENTENCED AFTER VICIOUS DOMESTIC ASSAULT
December 2022: Geoffrey Beadle, a 41-year-old resident of Denmead Road, Southampton, was convicted of a serious assault on his partner.The incident, which took place on September 24 in Southampton, involved Beadle attacking her physically and verbally, including beating, choking, and ripping hair from her head during a violent episode.
The woman was left with bloodshot eyes, bruises, and injuries to her neck.
Beadle also threw metal poles at her, kicked her, stomped on her, and inserted his fingers into her eyes, resulting in damage to her glasses.
The attack followed an argument and has had lasting effects on the woman, who now suffers from nightmares, has difficulty trusting others, and questions her own memories.
Beadle was brought before the court and was found guilty of assault causing actual bodily harm.
He was sentenced at Southampton Crown Court to 18 months in prison and was issued a five-year restraining order.
The woman expressed relief at his incarceration, stating, “I am so relieved that he is in prison.
I can enjoy Christmas and visit my friends without fear, knowing he cannot harm me anymore.” Police Officer Rebecca Stevens commended the victim's bravery and pointed out that Beadle displayed no remorse, with the jury taking only 26 minutes to deliver their verdict.
She concluded that the sentence not only punishes Beadle but also provides the victim with an opportunity to rebuild her life free from fear, encouraging others facing similar violent situations to seek help from organizations like Yellow Door.
