DUNFERMLINE CHINESE TAKEAWAY OWNER EDDIE YAN KIN NG ON SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER AFTER INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR TOWARD YOUNG GIRLS

The owner of a Chinese take-away shop located in Dunfermline, 47-year-old Eddie Yan Kin Ng, has been officially placed on the sex offenders register following a court hearing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. The case against Ng revealed disturbing allegations of inappropriate and predatory conduct directed towards two young girls, aged 13 and 16, which ultimately led to legal action and his subsequent registration as a sex offender.

During the court proceedings, it was established that Ng had engaged in a pattern of inappropriate behavior over a span of several months. Specifically, between January 1 and September 8 of the previous year, Ng made a series of sexually suggestive comments to a 16-year-old girl at his establishment, Rice Delight, situated on Linburn Road. These remarks included comments about her sexuality and even made references to her coming to the premises naked, which caused her significant discomfort and distress. The girl felt compelled to inform her mother about Ng’s behavior, which prompted police involvement and further investigation.

In addition to these allegations, Ng admitted to making inappropriate sexual remarks to a 13-year-old girl on multiple occasions from September 1 to November 7 of the same year. These comments included suggestive remarks about slapping her buttocks, which she found unsettling. Ng’s conduct extended beyond verbal comments; he also sent a suggestive message to the older girl, implying that she could be naked if she wished, and instructed the younger girl to call him “Uncle Eddie,” a request she refused. Furthermore, he repeatedly made inappropriate comments about slapping her backside and inquired about her social media accounts, indicating a pattern of predatory behavior.

Ng, who holds the position of joint owner and manager of the Rice Delight take-away, faced serious consequences for his actions. The court acknowledged the severity of his misconduct and responded by imposing a community payback order, which includes one year of supervision. Additionally, Ng was ordered to register on the sex offenders register for the same period, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his conduct. The case highlights the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals and underscores the legal repercussions faced by those who abuse positions of trust and authority in community settings.
