DEREK FORSTER FROM WINSFORD SENTENCED AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT ON VULNERABLE SCHOOLGIRL IN STOKE-ON-TRENT

In a case that has shocked the local community, Derek Forster, a 42-year-old resident of Winsford, was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of engaging in sexual activities with a vulnerable schoolgirl. The incident, which took place over a series of months, was brought to light during a court hearing at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

According to court records, Forster began his inappropriate relationship with the young girl in 2012. The sexual encounters reportedly occurred on four or five separate occasions before authorities intervened. The court heard that the girl’s mother discovered evidence of the misconduct when she found a condom, which led to Forster’s arrest and subsequent prosecution.

The victim recounted to police that Forster had ‘snogged’ her and kissed her all over her body before engaging in sexual activity. She emphasized that he ceased his actions immediately when she told him to stop. The girl, who was a minor at the time, disclosed that these incidents happened multiple times, with her stating that the total number of encounters was four or five.

Both the girl and her mother have since received counselling to help cope with the emotional trauma caused by the events. During the court proceedings, Forster, who resides on Dart Walk in Winsford, pleaded guilty to the charge of sexual activity with a child, thereby avoiding a lengthy trial.

In his defense, lawyer Oliver King highlighted Forster’s social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. He explained that Forster has no prior criminal record and is not considered a sexual predator. Mr. King described Forster as a socially reclusive individual with a limited social life, primarily interested in model railways, and having minimal contact with peers his own age. He also pointed out that the victim was Forster’s first sexual partner and that he has no history of sexual relationships.

Mr. King argued that any custodial sentence would be particularly difficult for Forster to endure, given his mental and emotional state. However, the judge, David Fletcher, emphasized that Forster must have been aware of his victim’s vulnerability and the inappropriate nature of his actions.

As part of his sentence, Forster will serve up to half of his 34-month term in prison, with the remainder on licence. Additionally, he will be registered on the sex offenders’ register for life and was subjected to a sexual offences prevention order, underscoring the seriousness of his misconduct and the ongoing restrictions placed upon him.
