DENNIS HARRISON OF BARROW SENTENCED TO NINE YEARS FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES
In October 2017, Dennis John Harrison, a resident of Suffolk Street in Barrow, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court for serious child sexual abuse offences committed over 25 years ago.
On Thursday, September 28, the 56-year-old was convicted of four counts related to the sexual exploitation of a young girl and received a total prison term of nine years.
Harrison was found guilty of the following offences: - Indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 14 on October 11, 1991.
- Indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 14 between July 20, 1989, and July 19, 1991.
- Inciting a girl under 14 to commit an act of gross indecency with himself on October 11, 1991.
- Inciting the same girl to perform a gross indecency act with him on October 11, 1991.
All these offences occurred within the town of Barrow.
Following his conviction, Harrison was also issued a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order to prevent further offences.
