CARDIFF EX-PRIMARY SCHOOL HEAD TEACHER DAVID WATKIN BUNDOCK ADMITS TO CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN SWANSEA

In a shocking development, David Watkin Bundock, a former primary school head teacher from Cardiff who was once honored with an MBE for his contributions to education, has confessed to committing six serious child sex offences. The admission came during a court hearing at Swansea Crown Court, where Bundock pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to the exploitation and abuse of minors.

Specifically, Bundock admitted to possessing indecent images of children on four separate occasions. These images were classified into different categories based on their severity, with four images falling under Category A—the most severe classification—two images categorized as Category B, and an additional twelve images placed in Category C. The crimes involving these images took place over a span of several months, from October 2017 through January of this year.

In addition to the possession charges, Bundock also pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor. This involved efforts to initiate inappropriate contact with a child through digital means. Furthermore, he admitted to attempting to meet a child following acts of sexual grooming, which indicates a deliberate effort to arrange a physical meeting for sexual purposes.

The 74-year-old, who resides in Cardiff, has a history of working in education. He served as the head teacher at multiple primary schools in Ceredigion, including Llandysul Primary School, Aberbanc School, Pontsian School, and Capel Dewi School. However, it is important to note that the offences for which he has now been charged are not connected to his tenure as a head teacher or his professional career.

Following his guilty plea, Bundock has been remanded in custody. His sentencing is scheduled for March 21, where the court will determine the appropriate punishment for his actions.
