May 2011 Automatic manager Martin Bowen’s child porn offences The manager of Welsh pop band The Automatic has admitted six charges of making indecent images of children. Martin Bowen, 45, from Cardiff, was ordered to register as a sex offender and given a three-year community order. Cardiff Crown Court heard that one of the images on his computer was of the most serious type of paedophile material. The court heard that Bowen denied knowledge of hundreds of indecent photos found on his computer. Peter Harding-Roberts, prosecuting, said: “Police raided Bowen’s house in July 2010 to seize his computer equipment. “They found 779 images on it but Bowen denied responsibility for them. He later admitted responsibility for six of the images.” The Automatic’s debut album Not Accepted Anywhere went platinum and included three top 40 singles – Raoul, Recover and Monster.
