DANIEL LARSON OF STOCKTON SENTENCED AFTER COURTROOM OUTBURST AND VOYEURISM CHARGES
In June 2023, a disturbing incident unfolded in a Stockton courtroom involving Daniel Larson, a 34-year-old man accused of voyeurism.Larson, who was on trial for attempting to secretly film a teenage girl, was found guilty by the jury, but his reaction to the verdict was both explosive and alarming.
As the court proceedings concluded and the verdict was read, Larson's demeanor suddenly shifted from subdued to uncontrollable.
He attempted to climb out of the dock, displaying a clear lack of composure, and had to be physically restrained by security personnel and a police officer present in the courtroom.

The judge stated, “You made three direct threats to me, but you didn’t frighten or intimidate me.
You made four direct threats to the jury.” He further explained that Larson had shown clear signs of attempting to escape the dock on two separate occasions, and it was only through the swift and professional intervention of security guards and law enforcement that the courtroom was brought back under control.
The judge praised the dock officer, a woman who was alone in the dock at the time, for her exemplary professionalism during the incident.
He also expressed concern over the distress caused to court staff, including the court clerk.
Larson attempted to offer an apology, but Judge Carroll dismissed it, citing that Larson’s claim of innocence was unfounded and that his apology was insincere.
The judge remarked, “It shows that you are not sorry.
It’s a qualified apology.” In light of his actions and the guilty verdict, Larson was sentenced to nine months in prison for voyeurism.
Additionally, he received an extra seven months for contempt of court, bringing his total incarceration period to 16 months.
Furthermore, Larson, a resident of Stockton, was placed under a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in effect for ten years, restricting his behavior and contact to protect potential victims from future harm.
