SOUTHAMPTON MAN ACCUSED OF RAPING 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL APPEARS IN COURT
A 48-year-old man named Damian Martin, from Millbrook Road West, has appeared in court charged with the rape of a 13-year-old girl.According to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, the attack occurred in Southampton overnight between December 26 and 27.
The police stated, "the girl was raped by a man she had met at an address in the St Mary's area on Boxing Day." She is currently receiving support from specialist officers.
Damian Martin was brought before Southampton Magistrates' Court and has been remanded in custody to appear at Southampton's crown court on January 30.
In addition to the rape charge, he faces multiple allegations including sexual offences, assault by beating, and taking a child to prevent lawful control.
Police also detained a second man, aged 50 from Southampton, on suspicion of rape; he has since been released on conditional police bail to assist ongoing investigations.
