A disturbing case involving a convicted sex offender named Corey Fair has come to light, revealing a long history of abusing children across Perth and Perthshire over a span of fifteen years. The severity and duration of Fair’s criminal behavior have shocked the local community and prompted a serious legal response.

Fair’s disturbing pattern of sexual misconduct began before he even reached the age of 14. His first known victim was a young girl still in primary school, whom he subjected to repeated sexual abuse over several years. According to court records, Fair raped this girl three times over an eight-year period, having previously engaged in vile sexual acts with her. His predatory behavior did not stop there; he went on to assault a second young woman before he was brought before the court. Despite facing charges, Fair continued his pattern of abuse, targeting yet another child after his initial arrest.

Currently, Corey Fair, now aged 28, is detained at Perth Prison, where he awaits sentencing. Before the court proceedings, social workers are scheduled to evaluate his mental state and risk factors to determine appropriate sentencing measures. The case was thoroughly examined during a trial at the High Court in Dundee, where Fair was found guilty of seven serious charges.

The court heard that Fair behaved in a lewd, indecent, and libidinous manner towards a young girl on multiple occasions between 2008 and 2010. These incidents took place at various flats in Perth and Coupar Angus. Evidence presented showed that Fair pulled at the girl’s clothing to expose her private parts, touched and rubbed her, and even restrained her on a bed. During these assaults, he pressed his body against hers and performed sexual acts, forcing her to participate in acts on him as well.

One of the most heinous aspects of the case was the violent rape of the girl when she was just 11 years old. The court described how Fair seized her by the hair, dragged her into a bedroom, and forced her to her knees before raping her. The abuse continued as she aged, with Fair raping her again at age 13, during which he restrained her on a bed, threatened her with violence, and placed a pillow over her head to silence her. The final recorded rape of this girl occurred when she was 19, with Fair convicted by a majority verdict.

During the trial, an allegation was made that, after Fair appeared in court, he attempted to have another man arrange for the victim’s murder. However, this charge was withdrawn by the prosecution and did not influence the verdict.

In addition to his crimes against the first girl, Fair targeted a second woman between 2018 and 2020 at various properties in Perth. The jury found that he sexually assaulted her by touching her body and making inappropriate sexual comments, culminating in a rape. These acts further demonstrated the pattern of predatory behavior that Fair exhibited over the years.

Despite being granted bail in October 2022, with specific conditions in place, Fair’s criminal activities persisted. While on bail, he gained access to an eight-year-old girl in April 2023, whom he sexually assaulted at a property in Perthshire. The court heard that Fair seized the young girl by her arms and legs, threw her onto a sofa, and touched her private parts. The girl’s mother was unaware of any bail restrictions when she allowed Fair to have contact with her daughter.

Following the assault, the girl’s brother returned home and noticed her distress. The girl’s mother recounted to prosecutors that her daughter was unusually quiet and withdrawn, not greeting her as she normally would. Eventually, the girl confided in another relative about the abuse, revealing the full extent of Fair’s misconduct.

Fair’s victims are protected by legal restrictions that prevent their identities from being disclosed. The court confirmed that he was remanded into custody on his 27th birthday in May 2023 and has been held at HMP Perth since then. Despite having no prior convictions, Fair was placed on the sex offenders register and remanded by Lord Renucci KC. His sentencing is scheduled for May 15 at the High Court in Stirling, where the full extent of his crimes will be formally addressed and appropriate penalties determined.
