January 2021 Hartlepool man admitted to sexual assault of young girl A paedophile that sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl has avoided a prison sentence. Connor McManus, 31, appeared at Middlesbrough Combined Court for sentence after he pleaded guilty to sexual assault on a girl in Hartlepool. The court was told that a neighbour noticed McManus in the window of his house acting strangely. When the neighbour continued to look, she saw him sexually assaulting the young girl. The neighbour rang the parents of the girl and the police were also called.  McManus, formerly of Hartlepool but now of Enfield Street, Middlesbrough was handed a three year supervision order and told to register as a sex offender.
