Connor Allen-Howe, previously of Nash Court in Halstead, used Skype to make contact with boys aged between 12 and 17 over three years and secretly recorded videos and photos of the children performing sex acts on themselves and others. He pressured one boy, just 13 at the time, to drink his own urine and “put his finger in his dog’s vagina”, which he then did. Another young boy was told to penetrate himself with a toothbrush. The 21-year-old admitted 31 separate sex offences at Chelmsford Crown Court back in December and was jailed for eight years in the same court on Tuesday (March 28). Allen-Howe’s vile acts were first uncovered when one of the boys, who lived in Colorado, USA, reported the conversations over Skype to his parents, who then went to their local police department. Eventually, five separate Skype accounts linked to Allen-Howe were uncovered and traced back across the Atlantic to Halstead, where he was arrested and interviewed by police Officers also seized his laptop and mobile phone where they found an “archive” of illicit material, showing many of his 22 victims either naked or performing sex acts on themselves. The court heard that Allen-Howe urged one of the boys to sexually assault his own dog. Allen-Howe, now of Shakespeare Road in Colchester, was charged with 21 counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, eight counts of causing or inciting child sexual abuse images and two counts of making indecent images of children and was jailed by Judge Emma Peters. Prosecuting, Stephen Rose told Judge Emma Peters that Allen-Howe told the boys his webcam and microphone were broken so they wouldn’t realise they were chatting with a man rather than a teen girl. He said: “The over-arching point here is that we say there is a course of conduct in which the defendant would encourage boys and young men to strip naked on camera, and in many cases, go on to perform depraved sexual acts. “In many of the instances, these young victims have been left with a deep sense of shame and embarrassment about what had occurred.” Allen-Howe’s vile acts were first uncovered when one of the boys, who lived in Colorado, USA, reported the conversations over Skype to his parents, who then went to their local police department. After presenting an overview of Allen-Howe’s offending, Mr Rose honed in on some of the most harrowing instances, which included the defendant urging one of the boys to sexually assault his own dog. In another instance, the vile paedophile, who represented Halstead Youth Council and appeared in court in a checked black suit and tie, urged a different 13-year-old boy to touch his sleeping sister and “try to take her pyjama bottoms off”. A third boy was asked to penetrate himself with a toothbrush. Judge Peters adjourned sentencing until Thursday, March 23, for a psychiatric report and pre-sentence report to be completed. She did however, warn Allen-Howe that the most likely outcome was an immediate prison sentence. Allen-Howe, now of Shakespeare Road in Colchester, was charged with 21 counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, eight counts of causing or inciting child pornography and two counts of making indecent images of children. He was released on bail until his final court appearance.
