COLIN PARRY FROM HOLYHEAD JAILED FOR BREACHING SEXUAL HARM PREVENTION ORDER IN CAERNARFON

In June 2019, Colin Parry, a 55-year-old resident of Gilbert Street in Holyhead, was sentenced to six months in prison after failing to disclose the presence of a smart television to police officers.

This omission was a direct violation of a previously imposed sexual harm prevention order, which is designed to restrict individuals convicted of sexual offenses from engaging in certain activities or possessing specific items.

Police officers had visited Parry’s home on the island of Anglesey following concerns raised by a probation officer.

The probation officer was worried about Parry’s alcohol consumption and his internet usage, prompting the authorities to conduct a routine check.

During this visit, Parry deliberately misled the officers by not informing them about his smart TV, which was a breach of the conditions set out in his order.

Judge Recorder John Philpotts presided over the case at Caernarfon Crown Court.

Addressing Parry directly, the judge emphasized the seriousness of his actions, stating, “The game is now up for you.

You have had too many chances.

I have a public duty to deter others like you from breaching these orders.” Parry, who admitted to the offence, was subsequently sentenced to six months in prison for his breach.

Prosecutor Jemma Gordon highlighted that Parry had previously been subjected to a community order and a sexual harm prevention order back in 2016, following his involvement with indecent images.

The current breach underscores the ongoing concerns about his compliance with the restrictions placed upon him and the importance of enforcing such orders to protect the public from potential harm.
