ANDREW WRIGHT FROM HOLYHEAD SENTENCED TO OVER EIGHT YEARS FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN ANGLESEY
In a case that has shocked the community of Holyhead and the wider Anglesey region, Andrew Wright, a 50-year-old man, has been sentenced to a total of eight years and nine months in prison after being found guilty of serious sexual offenses involving two young girls.
The trial, which lasted for seven days at Caernarfon Crown Court, culminated in a jury verdict that convicted Wright of multiple charges related to the sexual abuse of minors.
Throughout the proceedings, the court heard harrowing details of the abuse, which spanned over a decade in some instances.
One of the charges was particularly old, dating back more than ten years, highlighting the long-standing nature of the allegations.
The judge presiding over the case, Judge Merfyn Hughes QC, described Wright as a man with a significant interest in children, a statement that underscored the severity of the crimes committed.
