CHRISTOPHER WRIGHT OF DROITWICH FACES PRISON OVER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES

In April 2012, a disturbing case emerged involving Christopher Wright, a 35-year-old man from Farmer’s Piece, Droitwich, who is confined to a wheelchair. Wright is now facing serious legal consequences after admitting to multiple charges related to the possession and creation of child pornography.

The court proceedings took place at Worcester Crown Court, where Wright pleaded guilty to nine counts of making indecent images of children. These offenses spanned a period from May 2008 to June 2010, highlighting a prolonged period of illicit activity. In addition to these charges, Wright also admitted to possessing prohibited cartoon images and extreme pornography, further underscoring the severity of his actions.

Moreover, Wright confessed to encouraging another individual, known by the alias “lapdog,” to send him child pornography via the internet in August 2009. This act of solicitation adds another layer of criminality to his case, demonstrating a disturbing pattern of behavior.

During the hearing, Judge Robert Juckes QC acknowledged that the legal threshold for custody had been clearly crossed, indicating the gravity of the offenses. However, he left open the possibility of various sentencing options, including the potential for imprisonment. The case was adjourned until May 28, with Wright granted bail under strict conditions. These conditions include a prohibition on any contact with individuals under the age of 18, except for his own children. Additionally, Wright was ordered to register as a sex offender, a standard requirement in cases involving sexual offenses against minors.

Judith Kenny, representing Wright, stated that she was in the process of instructing an expert in forensic sexual behavior to prepare a detailed report on her client. This report could influence the final sentencing decision.

It is noteworthy that Wright denied a separate charge of distributing indecent photographs of children. The prosecution, led by Stephen Davies, accepted this denial, and the charge was left on the prosecution’s file, meaning it may be pursued further or dropped depending on subsequent proceedings.

The case continues to draw attention due to the serious nature of the allegations and the potential consequences for Wright, who resides in Droitwich, a town already grappling with the implications of such disturbing crimes.
