Christopher Robinson

Margate Sexual Abuser

November 2012 Paedophile had indecent images of children A PAEDOPHILE who called himself “Daddy” in internet chat rooms has been convicted of possessing indecent images of children. Police found Skype and web sex chats with girls as young as 14 and eight indecent photographs on Christopher Robinson’s computer when they raided his Margate home, in St Peter’s Road, in April, Thanet Magistrates’ Court heard on Friday. The court heard how the 32-year-old carer initially said he was a “happily married man” and that his “address must have been hacked” before breaking down in a police interview. Miss Reynolds said “sexual chat” was recorded on Robinson’s computer which showed he had incited girls to send him indecent images of themselves. “He said he uses Teen Chat. The name he uses is ‘Daddy’ but that is because he had a child who was removed by social services and he misses his own child,” said Miss Reynolds. The court heard that Robinson had been cautioned for possessing indecent images of children in 2009. Defending, Paul Shingleton of Kent Defence said Robinson had been forced to leave the area after suffering “vendetta attacks” at his home. He pointed to a pre-sentence report which said Robinson had “minimal sexual experience and that manifests itself in emotional immaturity”. District Judge Justin Barron gave Robinson a two-year community order with a supervision requirement and ordered him to complete a sex offenders’ programme. He was placed on the sex offenders’ register for five years and told to pay £85 costs. October 2012 Margate pervert’s internet ‘sex chats’ found A PAEDOPHILE who used the internet for sex chats with children and to grab photos of them has appeared in court. Christopher Robinson, 32, of St Peter’s Road in Margate, admitted possessing indecent images of children when he appeared at Thanet Magistrates’ Court last Friday. Police discovered records of explicit chats from communication service Skype and nine indecent images when they seized Robinson’s computer from his home on April 24. Defending, Paul Shingleton said: “He had no intention of sending these pictures to anybody else. They were for his own gratification.” The court heard how Robinson was cautioned by police in 2009 after they discovered records of him searching for children to talk to on his mobile phone. Prosecuting, Jody Tyman said: “In interview, Robinson said he had asked them to send pictures of themselves naked.” The images found on his computer included eight photographs of level 1 (out of 5) seriousness – that is images of erotic posing. One was deemed to be a level 2 image, which means it includes lower level sexual activities between children. The court heard that Robinson has married since the offence was committed and is now acting as carer for his wife, who suffers from cerebral palsy. Robinson pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing indecent photographs of children. District Judge Justin Barron ordered a pre-sentence report to be carried out before Robinson returns to the Margate court for sentencing on October 26 He said: “This is the sort of case where I want to see a report to understand his risk to children.”
