SHOCKING CRIME IN NORTHAMPTON: CHRISTOPHER OXTOBY AND KATIE SCOTT'S HORRIFIC ABUSE REVEALED

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through Northampton, a 26-year-old woman named Katie Scott has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison after a horrifying video surfaced showing her abusing a four-month-old baby girl. The footage was discovered on the computer of a paedophile, leading to a series of investigations that uncovered the extent of the abuse.

Christopher Oxtoby, aged 27, was the individual who recorded the video using his mobile phone. Both Oxtoby and Scott resided together in Northampton, specifically on Ashbrow Road, Briar Hill. Their involvement in the abuse was brought to light when they appeared before Northampton Crown Court, where they admitted to the charges against them. The court heard that their actions demonstrated a deeply warped and distorted view of sexuality, as described by the presiding judge.

Oxtoby was handed an indeterminate prison sentence, meaning he will remain incarcerated until a parole board determines he is no longer a threat to society. The severity of their crimes was compounded by the fact that the abuse was uncovered through a comprehensive international operation led by the FBI. The FBI's investigation traced the source of the abusive material to a paedophile in the United States, who had engaged in online conversations with Oxtoby. These exchanges, which were part of the evidence presented, revealed a disturbing connection between the two.

Following the intelligence from the FBI, Northamptonshire police executed a raid on the couple’s home on Ashbrow Road in Briar Hill on November 2 of the previous year. During the raid, authorities seized a total of 13 computers, which were later examined for evidence. Both Oxtoby and Scott pleaded guilty to multiple charges of sexual assault involving a child. Oxtoby also admitted to additional crimes, including taking indecent photographs of a child, making five indecent images of children, and possessing further indecent photographs.

Further complicating the case, Oxtoby confessed to indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 11 during the period between 1994 and 1996. In a letter addressed to Judge Thomas Corrie, Oxtoby attempted to justify his actions by describing his abuse of the young girl as a “test” or “experiment” into his sexuality. He also expressed confusion over how the abusive video ended up in the United States, but the judge dismissed this as implausible, stating, “You are not suggesting it was by some mystic force.”

Judge Corrie also remarked on the couple’s distorted perception of sexuality, emphasizing the seriousness of their offenses. The court heard that Katie Scott was considered vulnerable, with a low IQ, and played only a secondary role in the abuse. The defense for Oxtoby, represented by Makkon Shokkar, highlighted that he showed “remorse, regret, and shame” for his actions, but the court’s focus remained on the gravity of the crimes committed in Northampton and beyond.
