December 2016 Teenager groomed schoolgirls online A teenager has avoided a prison sentence after he was found guilty of grooming schoolgirls online  Carl Halker, 18 of St. Peter Port, Guernsey had pleaded not guilty to a number of offences which included making indecent images of a female child aged under 16 The court was told that Halker had contacted a girl who was aged 14 years old. He persuaded her to take an indecent image of herself and insisted that she send it to him. It was quite clear that Halker had groomed the child for sexual activity. Halker was handed a probation order which would last for three years and he was told he must register as a sex offender for four years
