March 1997 PERVERT GEDDES DIED A COWARD Evil double child rapist Brian Geddes hung himself because he couldn’t face life in prison .  Twisted Geddes raped two little girls as they camped out in a back garden last July.  But the sicko coward couldn’t face life behind bars and topped himself leaving a note telling prison warders: “There is no sentence the court can give me for the hurt and shame I put those two girls through.  “This is something I must do to clear my mind of this terrible crime.”  Geddes killed himself in his cell just five days after admitting the horrifying double rape.  Wearing a mask with slits for his eyes and mouth he ripped through the tent and raped the 11 and 12-year-olds in turn forcing the other to watch.  Their ordeal in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, lasted three hours.  Yesterday a fatal accident inquiry heard how the loner’s brother, Michael, 36, also of Peterhead, didn’t believe Geddes could have written the note.  He said: “He was illiterate. He could not write.”  But the hearing was told that other inmates had written letters for him.  Geddes was found hanging in a toilet from a rope made of torn bed sheets. In 1990, Geddes had been jailed for 30 months at the High Court in Aberdeen for indecently assaulting a 20-year-old woman in her home in Peterhead and threatening her nine-month-old son. The woman woke up in bed to find Geddes standing over her wearing a face-covering balaclava.
