BRADLEY O’HANLON FROM LEEDS SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a case that has shocked the community of Leeds, a 25-year-old man named Bradley O’Hanlon has been sentenced to nearly five years in prison after a series of disturbing offences involving a young girl. The crimes came to light following a detailed safeguarding investigation conducted by specialized officers in Leeds, which uncovered a pattern of grooming and sexual abuse.
O’Hanlon, who resides in Leeds, pleaded guilty to ten counts of engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged just 14, as well as multiple charges related to indecent images.
His court appearance took place at Leeds Crown Court on April 19, where he admitted to the allegations.
The court subsequently ordered that he be placed on the Sex Offenders Register, issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order against him, and released him on bail pending the preparation of pre-sentence reports.
The disturbing case first emerged in November 2021 when the victim disclosed her relationship with an older male after some suspicious messages were discovered on her mobile phone.
This revelation prompted a police investigation that quickly gathered momentum.
During police interviews, O’Hanlon remained silent, refusing to answer questions about the allegations.
However, further examination of his phone revealed a cache of sexually explicit videos and images, some of which involved another young female, adding to the gravity of the case.
Law enforcement officers from the Leeds District Safeguarding Unit worked closely with the Crown Prosecution Service to build a comprehensive case against O’Hanlon.
The evidence demonstrated a calculated grooming process, where he gradually gained the victim’s trust through attention and friendship before escalating to sexual acts.
This pattern of manipulation underscored the seriousness of his offences and the deliberate nature of his actions.
On Friday, the court handed down a sentence of four years and ten months in prison, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the impact on the young victim.
The case highlights the ongoing efforts of Leeds authorities to protect vulnerable children and bring offenders to justice, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding measures and community vigilance in preventing such heinous acts.
