ARTHUR WHITTLE FROM NORTH SHIELDS SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE CASES AFTER DECADES-LONG WAIT

In a significant legal development, Arthur Whittle, a resident of North Shields, has been convicted and sentenced for a series of heinous crimes committed against a young girl nearly four decades ago. Whittle, aged 63 at the time of sentencing, was identified as a former fish filleter residing in Hanover Gardens, Willington Quay. His criminal record includes nine counts of gross indecency with a child, with the victim being between the ages of five and nine at the time of the assaults. The crimes were committed in the early 1970s, and it was only after a thorough investigation and a trial at Newcastle Crown Court that justice was finally served.
