ARON MARCZYLO SENTENCED IN SOUTHAMPTON FOR OFFENSIVE MATERIAL
Offender Name: Aron Marczylo Location: Southampton Description: Officers located Aron Marczylo at his home in Shirley, Southampton, where he resides with his parents.Marczylo, who was employed at a local club until July 2017, was found in possession of illegal material.
His collection included over 6,000 category A indecent images of children, alongside videos depicting child abuse.
Some of these videos showed young victims crying during the abuse.
Southampton Crown Court was told that Marczylo used a peer-to-peer search system to obtain and download these images.
Prosecutor Timothy Akers explained that police tracked down the 30-year-old, visiting him on October 25, 2016, during which they seized multiple devices – including his computer, laptop, mobile phone, and tower unit.
Akers reported, “The defendant had 78 category A, 12 category B, and seven category C movies.
He was also found to have thousands of still images, the majority of which were the highest category, on his hard drive…some of the children involved are aged as young as four years old.” He added, “In one video, there is a reference to an 11-year-old child who appears to be in discernible pain during the event.
There is another video in which a child is seen crying in pain.” During his interview, Marczylo admitted he watched the videos with his girlfriend.
He also identified as pansexual and described having fantasies involving child abuse, although he stated he had never acted on these fantasies.
Mitigating factors presented by Berenice Mulvanny, representing Marczylo, included his history of depression, anxiety, and past bullying.
She revealed that as a child, he had his hair set alight in an incident.
Marczylo, of Janson Road, Southampton, was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years.
He was also subject to a sexual harm prevention order lasting five years and will be on the sex offenders’ register for ten years.
