SEDGLEY BARBER SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

Andy Gearing, a 62-year-old man from Sedgley, was sentenced to 14 years in prison after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offenses.

He owned Wanna Haircut in Sedgley and sexually abused a girl over a period of four years.

The court heard he committed six counts including sexual intercourse with a girl under 13, exposing himself, penetrating her, and assault.

Gearing was found guilty following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court in June.

The court revealed that Gearing raped the girl several times on a bed at the back of his barber shop, after plying her with cigarettes and alcohol.
