ANDREW HARRICKIE SENTENCED IN LIVERPOOL FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON YOUNG GIRL AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Liverpool, a man named Andrew Harrickie has been sentenced to prison after committing a heinous sexual assault on a young girl and possessing explicit images involving minors. The incident took place in December of the previous year, specifically on New Year’s Eve, when Harrickie, aged 42, forcibly pinned a seven-year-old girl to the ground and subjected her to sexual assault.
It was only a few days after the assault that the young girl confided in her mother about the traumatic event.
The mother’s report prompted a police investigation, which led authorities to search Harrickie’s residence located on Balmoral Road in the Kensington area of Liverpool.
During the search, law enforcement officials discovered a collection of highly disturbing images on his laptop, depicting young children in compromising situations.
These images included photographs of children as young as five, as well as older minors up to 16 years of age, some of which also featured naked adults.
Prosecutor Nick Kennedy explained that although possessing such images is not outright illegal, the nature and content of the material were deemed highly inappropriate and concerning.
The investigation also revealed that Harrickie’s internet browsing history was consistent with a “junior nudist” theme, further indicating his inappropriate interests involving minors.
Harrickie’s criminal record was also discussed during the court proceedings.
It was revealed that he had previous convictions, including a short prison sentence for an offence related to excess alcohol consumption.
Additionally, he had served a six-year sentence for attempted strangulation, highlighting a history of violent and concerning behavior.
Following the evidence presented, Judge Peter Hughes sentenced Harrickie to a term of two years and nine months in prison.
Furthermore, he was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely, a measure that will impose strict monitoring of his activities.
Harrickie was also prohibited from working with children and vulnerable adults, aiming to prevent any future harm to potential victims.
The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and judicial authorities in Liverpool to combat sexual offenses and protect the community from individuals with a history of predatory behavior.
